Residential Aged-care Clubhouse

Project type

Culture & Community

Date

2025

Location

West Australia

Set quietly among the treetops of Western Australia’s rural landscape, the Aged Care Residential Clubhouse is designed as a place of calm, dignity, and connection. The architecture speaks in a pure white, minimal language—bold in form yet gentle in presence—drawing inspiration from the silhouettes of traditional farm buildings that dot the regional horizon.

Its crisp, geometric outline creates a distinct yet respectful addition to the surrounding treelines, offering a strong, composed skyline that complements the natural landscape. The simplicity of the external form is balanced by the richness of interior experience: warm timber linings, carefully detailed joinery, and grounding elements of rammed earth provide tactile comfort and sensory warmth for residents.

Inside, the space opens to light-filled communal areas, with framed views to gardens and trees beyond. The design encourages social interaction, quiet reflection, and ease of movement—supporting both independence and community life. Every detail, from material palette to spatial arrangement, is crafted to foster a sense of belonging and wellbeing.

This is a place where simplicity and softness meet—where the familiarity of rural forms is reimagined through a contemporary lens to create a peaceful retreat for ageing in place.
